Arrow Nominate Your Ride - Ride Of The Month : March 2012

Sorry for being a little late on this one guys, my birthday weekend swallowed up all my free time.

Ride Of The Month is here again!! I know there's been a huge number of threads on here in the past month with lots of mods to lots of cars.

HOWEVER - There are no limitations for what needs to be done, if you're proud of your car and the way it looks, you have no reason NOT to run!

To nominate your car, reply in this thread with the following:

No more than (5) pictures of your car
A list of any/all modifications you have made to your car
A brief description of your car - Why you bought it, what you like about it, and where you got your inspiration for your mods

This thread will close in 5 days (2/25), and a poll of all entries will be created for everyone to vote on, and will remain open for 5 days, ending on March 1st.

Please do not spam random people on the website to come vote for you. it's one thing to ask your friends for a vote, but spamming people you don't know just to boost your vote is not allowed.

    Good luck to all participants!

In this corner we’ve got Helga, the 3,700lbs beast of a beauty. And her name fits her well. Your first thought isHelga, not so attractive, until you see the Korean Beauty! Much like Kia, at first you’re not too keen on the name as Kia has never done well in the American market. Until now!

Things that set Helga apart from any other Optima Hybrid include the DRL-Fogs, imported from her home land with the help of lozispe. The fogs were then upgraded to 3000k HID’s. Her ride was improved with a Luxon front strut bar and a Luxon front under-brace. As for sound her door and dash speakers are stock infinity speakers supplemented with a Kicker 300.1 AMP and dual Kicker 10’s in a ported box located in the trunk. This oversized box leaves less than 2 cubic feet of L-shaped space, which is enough for Disks for disk-golf, jumper cables, and emergency provisions. Her interior was modified with Carbon Fiber Vinyl over chrome strips, and dealer-installed window tint. Helga also has the 3D K5 badges front, rear, inside and on the wheels as well as mud flaps and a carbon covered FOB.

At one point in time I had the “Poor Man” audi-LED eyeline on her, but with real DRL’s installed they came off (Don’t want her looking like a MAC truck going down the road).

Helga, my Optima K5 now has her older sister by her side Bertha, my Blazer K5. It’s a family of K5’s!

As of right now my Helga projects have been put on hold for Bertha. Of course a 20+ year old vehicle is going to need some TLC and aftermarket parts, so for the next 8-12 months Helga will just be my daily/distance driver. Once I feel Bertha is set for a while I’ll continue with Helga, getting her the Air Ride Suspension I want, and hopefully by then the Supercharge will be available. I might get rims when they go on sale, but have no plans to purchase them as of yet.

And don’t ask why a Hybrid needs a supercharger, everyone tinkers. Why did we need to go to the moon? Why does someone need a 1+ million dollar super car? Because they’ve got time and money, that’s why. I can easily say I’ve got the only Optima Hybrid in the US with DRL-Fogs, and as things progress I want to be able to say I’m the only one with an Optima Hybrid with a Supercharger .

    Anyway, thanks for voting!

I bought my Optima LX because after I saw them at the dealership I fell in love with the amazing styling and I just had to have one. I have OEM mudflaps, 3.0 3D K style badges, 20" MSR 042 rims, 20% tint all the way around and red LED lights installed in the front and back footwells. I love the styling, accessories, and all the heads that turn and stare I got most of my inspiration from this forum.

Stock yes. But after 30 mins of having it up on either side with tape I settled for going under the "Hybrid" logo.
